The Movahedi Lab specializes in brain immunology, aiming to understand how neuro-immune crosstalk shapes the healthy and diseased brain. Our research focuses on developing immune-centric therapies for brain cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, with a special emphasis on brain macrophages and microglia. We rely on advanced technologies including single-cell multi-omic analysis, genome engineering, and stem cell technology. Our ultimate goal is to pioneer new innovative therapies for brain disease, with a particular focus on developing macrophage-based cell therapies.
